Free Lightweight WordPress Table of Contents Plugin
Add a table of contents to long WordPress articles using the [wpsymposium_toc] shortcode. It links to H2 and H3 headings, keeps their reading order, and assigns unique anchors where needed. The plugin only changes front-end singular post and page content containing the shortcode.

Questions and limits
Does it add navigation to every article?
No. It runs only on singular posts and pages that contain the shortcode. Articles with fewer than two H2/H3 headings do not receive a table of contents.
Will existing heading anchors be changed?
Unique existing anchors are preserved. Duplicate or missing anchors are assigned unique values so each link has a destination.
Does it load JavaScript or external fonts?
No. Navigation uses standard anchor links. A small local stylesheet supplies the basic layout and scroll offset.
Does it support every page builder?
It processes headings in standard WordPress content after shortcodes render. Builders that bypass the_content need separate integration.
