Free WordPress Migration and URL Repair Plugin

Find old-domain references in published posts, pages and metadata after a WordPress migration. Review before-and-after values, choose individual repairs and restore the latest batch if needed. Optional public HTTP checks help inspect links and images without changing them.

How to use migration repair workbench

  1. Install on staging and open Tools > WP Symposium Migration Repair.
  2. Enter old and new site origins. Run a preview batch and review each proposed change.
  3. Select repairs to apply. Changes made by another editor since the preview are skipped.
  4. Inspect the site, purge external caches and use Undo if needed. Scan the next offset for additional posts.

Questions and limits

Does this migrate the whole website?

No. It repairs origin references after migration. It does not copy files or databases, change GUIDs or site settings, or replace a backup plugin.

What formats are supported?

Published post/page content, string metadata, serialized arrays and JSON. This includes builder data stored in those formats. Serialized objects are skipped and compatibility with dynamic custom templates must be reviewed separately.

How does undo work?

The latest applied batch retains exact previous values in an administrator-only journal. Undo restores a value only if it still matches the applied version. Later edits are preserved as conflicts. Clearing the journal discards that recovery history.

Are link checks comprehensive?

Checks cover up to 12 unique public URLs within a bounded time window. A blocked request is unverified. Large fields and excess metadata are skipped, and each batch reports its coverage.
